Your mom and I haven't had many big adventures, lately, because we've been saving every penny we can for our exciting wedding next Spring. But now it's Fall, and we were looking to ring in the season, so we checked out the nearby pumpkin patch in Dixon and brought back some good looking ones for carving. Neither one of us had done this since we were little kids!

The place was huge! As you can see, they feature an enormous corn maze that we hope to try out one day. |

Right when you get out of the car, you hear the whooping sound of this pumpkin cannon sending small pumpkins flying into a soggy, beaten down car setting in this thing's sights. It looked like a lot of fun! |
This was a real pumpkin patch, with the pumpkins all sitting where they grew up and most still attached to the vines. |
We grabbed a couple that looked good for us, and one small one for the cats... |
I put all this effort into separating and cleaning the seeds from all the gunk, only to end up burning the seeds in the oven. Woops. |
Shai must have realized that pumpkin was partly for her, because she oversaw the carving your mom did on it. |

Success! Mine was kind of a simple design, but I think it ended up cute. Your mom's has a really creepy grin! |
