Adventure through San Jose and San Francisco

Your mom and I hit the road after work yesterday to catch a show in San Jose and then end up in San Francisco, where today we explored more of a city which could never fully be seen.

We showed up early in San Jose and the club wasn't even open yet.
So we walked to the nearby San Pedro Square and grabbed some appetizers at Los Gatos Brewing Company, which your mom was thoughtful enough to point out as I mindlessly walked right by it.
Fierce Creatures were great, as always, and we had a blast just hanging out at the bar and taking in the music.

We got up early the next morning in San Francisco after a late night drive into the city. I think you mom looks absolutely adorable in her glasses, though she prefers to not wear them if she can avoid it ;)
This accidental photo was taken at the Cafe Mason, a nice little Italian-style cafe near the hotel where we both got some great bacon and eggs.
The plan was to hit the train to get into the Mission District, but it turned out to be a bit confusing.
We eventually figured it out (or, really, your mom did), and hopped on the K-line.
Your mom directed us to Bi-Rite Creamery, a great little ice cream shop which was covered with cute drawings.
They had a nice assortment of interesting flavors, like Earl Grey and Ginger, which I'd never seen before.
I went with a mint-chip and cookies-and-cream combo, while your mom got salted caramel, which was absolutely delicious. Next time, I'm getting salted caramel!
Near the creamery is Delores Park, a well populated park with a great view and full of folks picnicking and playing.
After another subway trip back to the Embarcadero, we spied these kids playing on a huge art sculpture with the Bay Bridge in the background.
After a light, late lunch, we checked out this cool new and used department store called Jeremys, which had a really cool, vintage style design to it.
