Your mom and I have made this an amazing summer, getting out and seeing as much as we can. Today we took a long day trip to add to the list Pinnacles National Monument which was on the way to Morro Bay.

| We didn't get too far into Pinnacles, but we did get to see Condor's Crags, one of the highlights of the park. |

| Wandering around the trailheads, we saw a lot of buzzing bees doing their work. |

| We also saw this pretty "silver-studded blue" butterfly. I had to look up what this guy was called when we got home. |

| After leaving the park, we made our way to the coast. Here your mom getting some air on the beach near San Simeon. |

| This part of the beach was really rocky, but it made for a neat landscape. |

| The beach squirrels here were scurrying all over! |

| As we approached Morro Bay, Morro Rock stood out obviously in the bay. It is enormous! |

| We hiked around a bit on some of the trails just off the beach, and saw some pretty birds. |
 |
| The sun set off the pier, just behind where we ate dinner. |
 |
| In the summer the sun goes down late, giving us some light almost all the way home. Halfway home, we stopped to catch this shot of the moon guiding our way. |
