The March in March, 2010

Your mom and I put on our activist hats and drove to Sacramento to protest the State education budget cuts which have been routine as of late and really impacted your mom's school. Your mom went last year, too, and said it was quite an experience, so I had to get in on it this year.

Students and faculty from all over the State descended on the capitol. All the bright red shirts are worn by people from your mom's school, Fresno City College.

There were a number of speakers.

People got really creative with their signs...

We ate lunch after the protest at a little cafe just down the road from the capitol building.

We toured the capitol where they had some cool California history, like this flag from the "California Hundred," a small unit from the Civil War.
