Picnic Day at Our Place!

Your mom and I hosted a bunch of friends for Davis' annual "Picnic Day," which is officially an open house for incoming UC Davis students but is celebrated by most students and locals as a city-wide party. The campus hosts all kinds of neat events, so we dolled up the place to get the day going and eventually made our way on campus for the Dochsie Derby (or "weenie-dog races" as they're commonly called).

Kelley stayed with us the night before so we could get up bright and early and prepare. The sippy cups have been a tradition for Kelley and some of her old UC Davis friends which we joined last year.
The place looked good and was ready for guests after mixing up some bulk cocktails.
Katie (next to Kelley) and Megan (next to your mom) joined us first, but we ended up with a nice mix of folks, including Matt, his good friend from San Francisco, Josh, and Matt's cousin Tara, who we'd heard a lot about but hadn't met yet. It became a pretty lively bunch!
I brewed up a batch of Matt's IPA, a recipe I made for his birthday in January and repeated for Picnic Day, since this is a style that most people really like. The crowd made short work of this batch!
