Picnic at Point Reyes

Your mom had the brilliant idea to have a beach picnic. There are some remote beaches we'd been interested in visiting for a long time near Point Reyes, so we packed up some good food, an umbrella, and a blanket and hit the road!

On the way to the coast, we always stop at Inverness, a tiny town along the way. We grabbed some food at the small market and checked out this long abandoned boat washed on the shore.
Your mom did an amazing job arranging this picnic. It was quite a meal made all the better by a great day on the beach.
I had some fun in the water, and ended up goofing up and falling in at one point and getting my entire backside soaked.
I brought all the camera gear to play around with some long-exposure shots on the beach.
Your grandpa Gene had a blast. He has a passionate love for the breaking water and simply sat there enjoying every crashing wave.

On our way out we grabbed hot chocolate to warm up. Even though it's the middle of summer, this place was windy and cool! It was a really nice break from the 100-degree heat at our place.
They once again humored me while I checked out the nearby microbrewery on the way home.
