Halloween Costume Concert

You mom and I went with our friends April and Matt to Merced for a little indie rock show tonight. We saw a couple really good local groups, Fierce Creatures and Rademacher, and had a great time showing off our costumes and checking out everyone else's.

The Partisan is a cool little bar on Main Street in Merced.
It started out slow so we grabbed a free table and watched as it filled up quickly through the evening.
Your mom and I went as a matching high school couple. She found genuine vintage costumes for us both, me in an old letterman jacket and her in an old cheerleader uniform.
Matt threw on his best mask (with a moving mouth and furling lips!), and I cracked up every time he would take a sip of his drink through those horrifying teeth!
Your mom and April compare shoes and socks. April went as Gogo, the deadly school-girl assassin character from the movie Kill Bill. She made by hand a mace which looked awesome and had a long chain of paperclips secured with tape.
The Fierce Creatures put on an awesome live show. Your mom and April stood up front and center watching Amanda sing with the band. She's a great front-woman and a really sweet person we got to hang out with a bit.
After the show we checked out the connected parlor, where costumed folks played pool.
