Mother's Day trip to Carmel

It had been a while, so it was easy for your mom and I to decide that this Sunday would be a good opportunity for a quick trip to our favorite place to explore, Carmel-by-the-Sea.

One of our traditions is to get some coffee on the way out of town.
On the way into town we stopped in Monterey to hit up the local brewpub, Peter B's, where I had a couple really good beers! I'm on a journey to see as many microbreweries as I can of the dozens and dozens in California.
I love the quick little pictures I get of your mom when she doesn't see them coming. When driving along the coast on Highway 1, we can't help but get out whenever a good view presents itself.
We always spend a bit on Carmel beach. Families and playing dogs occupy this serene place.
We stumbled upon the patio of this restaurant, exploring a few blocks off the main drag in town.
We got pizza! It was excellent.
The drive home was during those great moments as the sun begins to get low in the evening, offering a wonderful sky.
