Summertime in Carmel

Your mom and I were due for another Carmel trip, so we set out for the wonderful little town yet again to see what else we could see.

Because it was a spontaneous trip, we were lucky to find a place to stay. The people who reserved this little room in a bed and breakfast cancelled at the last minute and we swooped in just in time!
Your mom's tradition.
Your mom is a bona fide bookworm and library geek, so when we finally got a chance to look around the Carmel public library, we enjoyed its charm.
Your mom made a new friend with Charlie, a gorgeous Golden Retriever owned by the manager of this paper store.
We took a short drive to visit the Carmel mission, an interesting and dark historical monument to a time in history that I'm glad is long behind us. In her American Indian classes, your mom learned a lot about the atrocities committed in places like this.
