Your mom and I returned to Fresno for the weekend to see our friends and help celebrate our good friend Marshall's 31st birthday. It was nice and somewhat stirring to go back to Fresno, where we'd lived for years before the recent move.

| We headed down early to spend some time with our friend Matt in the Tower District, his second home. |

| For some reason your mom and I had never checked out the famed Chicken Pie Shop in Fresno, so we made a point to eat there on this trip. We had breakfast there after spending the night at Matt's place. |

| It's a charming old-fashioned place right out of decades long gone. The food was absolutely fantastic, as well. |

| Then it was time to party, and in great homebrewer fashion, Marshall had three varieties of his own beer creations on tap in his new beer kegerator. He's really gotten good at this. |

| As usual, Laura outdid herself with the cake. |

| It's crazy how the kids continue to sprout. We love seeing Roscoe and Hazel whenever we can. |

| Before heading back home, I chipped in a bit of assistance to a Sunday morning brew day. Fittingly, we brewed up one of our favorites from last year, our Smiling Sky Summer Pale. I can't wait to try it again next time we visit. |
